Periwinkle Blue is an vivid opaque multi-colored glass
(slag glass)  with a streaky marble like appearance.
This unique blue treatment is an original Fenton color developed by Paul Rosenthal during the 1930's.   The heat-sensitive glass ranges from light to dark blue to create beautiful gradations of color - a true art glass treatment!   The nature of this opaque glass creates a range of shades within each item ... so no two pieces will be exactly alike.
 
Introduced in January 2004, and retired in Fall 2004.

"Autumn Beauty on Topaz Opalescent"
The 2004 Honor Collection recognizes the efforts of  chemist Paul Rosenthal, whose expertise led Fenton color production during the 1930s & 40s.
In the late 1930s, he developed Topaz Opalescent, which became an important color for Fenton Glass.
Paul Rosenthal retired in 1949, after having worked at Fenton Glass for 42 years.
